The Becoming

The wings were always folded, not missing.

Two wing forms lifting away from the band, deeply ribbed, in gold that runs warm amber where the light pools between the folds. Small green stones and clusters of hand-applied gold beading gather along the lower edges, like something still wet from the shell.

This is the piece the brand is named for, and the only one that carries the shape of the mark directly — one petal, turned, repeated, until it becomes a butterfly. It is caught deliberately at the moment before flight rather than after. Open, not gone.

The last stage is not triumph, and any brand selling it as triumph is selling something. It is the far quieter recognition that the life she is living has stopped being a recovery from the old one. She is not rebuilding. She is simply living, in a life that is entirely hers, doing things she would once never have been permitted to want.
