Older than any of the arguments about it.
Four tapered arms, edged in small dark pavé, with a single pink-red oval held at the crossing. The arms lift slightly away from each other, so the piece has depth rather than lying flat.
The cross was a protective mark for a long time before it belonged to anyone. Two lines meeting is the simplest way to draw a place where something is held — the point where the roads cross, where you stand, where a decision gets made.
This is a ring for the stage of refusing. She isn't asking for protection here. She's marking a position and standing on it.
Sits high with a compact footprint, so it clears a sleeve.
