A substantial rectangular green stone, cut with a flat table so the color reads solid rather than sparkling, held in a heavy gold-plated claw at each corner.
Green is the color of chlorophyll doing nothing dramatic: taking light, water and air and turning them into structure, slowly, without any visible event. It is the least theatrical process on earth and the one everything else depends on.
This is the ring for the stage where she is building something that will not show results for a while, and has decided to build it anyway.
The heaviest-feeling piece in Rooting Down. It has real presence on the hand.
