Pointed leaves fanning upward from a single pale grey-blue stone, each leaf worked with a raised central vein so the light runs along it as the hand turns.
Laurel keeps its leaves through the cold. That is the whole reason it ended up on the heads of poets and generals — not because it was rare or beautiful, but because it was the only thing still green when everything else had given up for the season.
This is the ring for the stage where nothing dramatic is happening and she is quietly still here. Steady is not a lesser achievement than leaving. It is usually the harder one.
Sits lower than it looks. One of the easiest pieces here to wear all day.
